WOUND HEALING AND COLLAGEN FORMATION VI. The Origin of the Wound Fibroblast Studied in Parabiosis
نویسنده
چکیده
Healing skin wounds were studied in a series of parabiotic rats . The femurs of one parabiont of each pair were shielded whilst both animals were given 800 r from a Co60 source. The animals were wounded 3 days after irradiation . Each animal with partially shielded marrow was then given tritiated thymidine intraperitoneally daily while the cross-circulation was arrested by clamping . After the thymidine3H had cleared the blood, the clamp was released. Animals were sacrificed, and wounds were prepared for radioautography 1, 2, and 6 days after wounding. In the wounds of the shielded animals thymidine3H was observed in epidermis, endothelium, leukocytes, fibroblasts, and mast cells . Only neutrophilic leukocytes, monocytes, and lymphocytes were labeled, as determined by light and electron microscope radioautography, in the wounds of each nonshielded parabiont . None of the many fibroblasts present were found to contain label in the wounds of the nonshielded parabionts through the 6 day period . These observations provide further evidence that wound fibroblasts do not arise from hematogenous precursors and, therefore, must arise from adjacent connective tissue cells .

Effect of Low Level Laser Therapy on the Surgical Wound Healing in Hamster
Background and Objectives: Accelerating wound healing is a very important factor for patients to return to ordinary life. Laser seems to have positive effect on cutaneous wound healing. This study aimed to investigate the effect of red light laser 630 nm on cutaneous surgical wound in hamster and to compare outcomes such as angiogenesis, number of fibroblasts and collagen form...
متن کاملTopical Simvastatin Enhances Tissue Regeneration in Full-thickness Skin Wounds in Rat Models
Wounds and wound healing have always been one of the most important subjects that experimental researches were dedicated to. Simvastatin has been used for long as a common lipid lowering agent which was reported to have some pleiotropic effects such as antioxidation, anti-inflammation and immunomodulation. In this study we aimed to determine the effect of simvastatin on wound healing process in...

متن کاملEffects of Minoxidil Gel on Burn Wound Healing in Rats
Background: Minoxidil has been reported to inhibit in vitro fibroblast proliferation and lysyl hydroxylase activity, a key enzyme in collagen biosynthesis. These in-vitro effects proposed minoxidil to be a potential antifibrotic agent. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of minoxidil gel on wound healing procedure in a second-degree burn model in rats. Materials and methods: Wis...
متن کاملStudy the Effect of Bioptron Light therapy on Prevention of Oscar Production in Diabetic and Non-Diabetic Rats
Background: The formation of skin scars is inevitable following surgery, trauma and burns. Wound healing is a complex process that occurs during the competition of collagen production and collapse mechanisms. Various factors such as diabetes can interfere this process with multiple mechanisms. There are also ways to speed up the process of repair and prevent wound formation which is the use of...
